Every two weeks, you’ll discard the current aligners and switch to the next set. Every six weeks, you’ll meet with Dr. Sorensen for a check-up and to receive your next set of aligners.

Another option is to use clear anti-bacterial soft hand soap to clean your aligners. The ease of cleaning aligners is one of the many benefits of using Invisalign® over traditional braces.

Can I switch from traditional braces to Invisalign®?

Unlike traditional braces that use a retainer with a plastic piece that snaps onto the roof of your mouth, Invisalign® utilizes Vivera® retainers. These retainers are made from the same material as the Invisalign® aligners and are designed to keep your teeth in place. They are thicker and more durable than the aligners as they need to be worn for a longer period of time. You will receive four Vivera® retainers which you will need to swap out over the course of your retention period.
